Three Big Areas To Shift To Live A Low-Tox Lifestyle

It's time to kick some chemical ass and shift into a low-tox lifestyle that'll make your body scream, "thank you!" When I really started making my life simpler, I took away a lot of processed food that helped me lose almost 100 pounds, but I also started caring more about the external factors as well. Those are considerably important when switching to a healthier & simpler lifestyle.

We're diving into three massive areas where toxins lurk – internal, external, and environmental. Buckle up, because we're about to detoxify your life like it's never been done before.

1. Internal

Let's talk about the dirty little secrets inside you. We're not judging; we're just here to clean house. Start by giving your food a makeover – quality matters, ingredients matter, and where the heck it's sourced from matters. Supplements, too! Don't pop just anything; make sure they're high-quality and sourced from places that aren't dumping chemicals into their mix. Water, the elixir of life, deserves better than being a toxic soup. Get a filter; your taste buds and organs will thank you. Here’s some more ideas:

  • Identify any items you consume with a laundry list of ingredients and swap them for something simpler

  • Reduce processed foods

  • Reduce (or completely cut, if you can) seed oils

  • Add electrolytes to your filtered water

  • Talk positively to yourself and release any negativity

2. External

Your bathroom and vanity are like battlegrounds, and it's time to declare war on toxic crap. Beauty products, hair potions, makeup bags, and that self-care shelf – look at those labels like you're solving a murder mystery. Orrr it doesn’t really have to be that complicated. If you don’t know what it is off the top of your head or can’t pronounce it… odds are, it’s not good for you. But it’s not just products, it’s things that are in your home that affect your body like technology and the wireless internet, they're not innocent either. Your phone might be smarter than you, but it shouldn't be more toxic. Oh, and relationships? Toxic people are like poison, you may have a long history with someone but if they aren’t positively serving you, you have to do what’s best for your health and cut them off. Surround yourself with people who lift you up.

3. Environmental

Now, let's talk about the environment you're soaking in. Technology, the internet, and relationships could arguably be part of this category, but these are heavy hitters too.

Air fresheners might make your room smell like a tropical paradise, but they're pumping in a chemical jungle. Synthetic, toxic blends of chemicals might come together to smell good, but at what cost? Air quality – get an air purifier, please. What you breathe in might be invisible, but those toxins build up to a very visible nightmare. Mold is a huge silent assassin. If you’re suspicious of mold, I urge you to get that checked as mold can attack your body from multiple angles. Your home and work environment shouldn't be a toxic wasteland. How you choose to clean your spaces matters. There are a lot of cleaners out there that claim to be green, but they actually are master greenwashers. Consider switching to a plant-based natural alternative: find some here.

Read Those Labels: If you can't pronounce it, don't put it in or on you.

  1. Filter That Water: Your kidneys aren't trash cans.

  2. Dump Toxic People: Relationships should be refreshing, not draining.

  3. Green Your Surroundings: Mother Nature didn't sign up for a chemical dump.
